Our Flower Arranging Event

David, one of our Vice Presidents, entertained about seventy of us in the Grand Pavilion on a sunny afternoon in May 2023 and created some wonderful flower arrangements, which were then raffle prizes – with many of his audience very keen to take one home.  He started by telling us about when he was invited to do an arrangement in Westminster Abbey for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Memorial Service. When he saw the television broadcast his reaction was to contact friends and say, ‘Call the police!’.  The arrangement was nowhere to be seen – at least – not until the royal party were leaving and as the clergy said goodbye and moved, there was David’s arrangement.  I am sure the royal party saw it and what an honour!
